Aveeno Baby Soothing Relief Moisture Cream ($5.69)

I just recently discovered this stuff, and it's pretty much the perfect anti-itchy lotion: hypoallergenic, fragrance free, with colloidal oatmeal. It's thick and very soothing on rough feet, but not greasy and thus okay for your face as well. Recommended! From Drugstore.com.

Pixi Lip Gloss Kit ($14)

sale!

Reg $20. Eight delish colors mean you can blend to the right color every time without carrying twenty lip glosses. And Shoppista knows from carrying twenty lip glosses. From Target.

Even the pickiest lip gloss diva can mix and match to the perfect shade with this many sparkly glosses. From Sephora.

Colorful Retro Pattern Hair Dryer ($69)

Okay, well, you could buy three or four regular hair dryers for this price, but they certainly won't be this cute.

From PB Teen.

Afterglow Mascara ($21)

So, it turns out most of our cosmetics are full of estrogen-mimicking compounds, cancer juice, and petroleum. (Okay, not cancer juice. But that other stuff, yeah.) Um, oops? Afterglow cosmetics, though, are not made with that stuff. Plus hey, cute packaging. From Organic Diva.

Pure Loofah Soap + Loofah ($4)

sale!

Reviewers seem to be in love with the scent of this pre-soaped loofah, and I admit, a pre-soaped loofah does appeal to the lazy convenience-loving American in me. From Mark.

Tendertone Lip Balm ($15)

Not-quite-naked lips in ten delish colors, all with SPF of 12. Perfect for pools, beaches, mojitos, convertibles, and, well, summer. From MAC Cosmetics.

Waterpik Ultra Dental Water Jet ($51)

I hate flossing. Haaaate it. And the internet says that the Waterpik is as good as flossing. Some studies said so or something. I'm not sure if this is really true, but it's a good excuse to play with this complicated-looking appliance for a while. From Amazon.

Pop Secret Lip Balm ($5)

This is either going to be really delicious or really gross. Either way, can you resist at least trying it? From Perpetual Kid.

Thursday, April 24, 2008

Peppermint Face-Blotting Papers ($10)

These little papers that soak up oil are a much better solution than another layer of powder on your skin. Plus, peppermint is bound to perk you up. (There are other scents, too, like lavender and orange, if those are more your style.) From Boscia.

Sweet P Olive Oil Soap ($8)

This little Seattle shop handcrafts all the body stuff, and honestly, I would buy it just for the elegant packaging. From Sweet Petula.

Swashbuckler Pirate Soap ($6)

For when you want that pirate vibe in your life but definitely do not want to smell like a pirate. Scents of West Bay rum, spices, and lime. Arrr. From Buy Olympia.

L'Oreal "Stroke Of Midnight" Nail Polish ($5)

I just tried this color for the first time tonight -- love. It looks black on the screen, but it's really a very, very, very dark red in person. Perfect for a punch on super-short nails. From Drugstore.com.

Tuesday, March 18, 2008

Smith's Rosebud Salve ($6)

Great for lips, but also dry skin. Comes in fetching tin (the real reason I want it). From Drugstore.com

Tuesday, March 11, 2008

Benetint Cheek And Lip Tint ($28)

Recommended by Real Simple, Marie Claire, and—most importantly—by Tara Ariano (hilarious writer, one of the founders of Television Without Pity). From Benefit.

Friday, February 22, 2008

3CC Lip Gloss ($15)

Originally $19, this is an interesting idea—a sheer coat of sparkle on top of natural lips or a darker color underneath. Also available in various pink shades. From Drugstore.com.

Monday, February 4, 2008

Neutrogena Clean Lash Tint ($8)

If you're looking for a mascara that's more color than "thickening" and "lengthening" (also known as "clumping" and "bits of stuff flaking off into your eyeball all day"), this thin product intended only to color your lashes might be just the thing. Great for those of us with invisible blonde lashes. From Drugstore.com.

Rice & Milk Archipelago Botanicals Set ($20)

Snag this for your guest room and your next guest is guaranteed to feel super pampered. From Wrapables.
